NIGHT LEASE DESK

Your request is safe behind another request.

Night Shift

At closing time, Buffer Car takes the last chair beside the barrier. Every lease request receives a paper number, a firm nod, and absolutely no estimate. Headlights idle in a patient row while the ticket wheel turns one click at a time. Nothing is lost. Nothing is rushed. The oldest question leaves first; the newest question learns to sit quietly.

Postcard From Window Three

Dear applicant, the counter received your lease request before lunch and placed it behind the breakfast request. The breakfast request is waiting on yesterday. Please keep this card dry and stop checking the door; Buffer Car will call exactly one number when the number feels ready.

The clerk has released six facts. None changes your position, but all are completely official.

Take a number. Keep it.
